Copyright and legal reporting

VeRa accepts copyright complaints and community legal reports for content, creator pages, and platform activity that may violate rights, law, or policy. This page explains how to submit a report and what information helps us review it quickly.

Plain-Language Summary
  • Use VeRa’s legal reporting flow to submit copyright complaints or community legal reports.
  • Complete notices help us review issues faster and reduce back-and-forth.
  • VeRa may remove content, restrict accounts, or take other enforcement action where appropriate.
  • Repeat infringers may lose access to VeRa.
  • Counter-notice and dispute handling may be available, depending on the report type and applicable law.

How reporting works

Logged-in users can submit a legal report through VeRa’s report form. We review copyright complaints and community legal reports using the information provided, applicable law, our Terms, and our platform policies.

VeRa may ask for more information, remove or restrict content, preserve evidence, disable access, or close a report where information is incomplete, duplicative, or unsupported.

Required fields for a notice

A complete copyright complaint should include, where applicable:

  • your name and contact email
  • the name of the rights owner, if different
  • a description of the copyrighted work
  • the location of the allegedly infringing material on VeRa
  • a description of why you believe the material is infringing
  • a good-faith statement
  • an accuracy statement
  • an electronic signature

Community legal reports should include enough detail for VeRa to identify the content or conduct at issue and understand why review is requested.

Repeat infringer policy

VeRa may suspend, restrict, or terminate accounts that repeatedly submit infringing content or repeatedly violate intellectual property rights. Enforcement may consider the number of reports, the seriousness of the conduct, repeat behavior, and any evidence provided during review.

Counter-notice

If content is removed or restricted following a copyright complaint, VeRa may allow the affected user to submit a counter-notice or dispute response where appropriate. The exact workflow depends on the report type, the jurisdiction involved, and VeRa’s internal review requirements.
